With constant advancement and downwards price pressure, technology that was once only in the dreams of the very few has become available and commonplace to the masses. One of the most important developments in recent years, which almost no computer user can have failed to notice, is the CDROM. More recently, it has even become possible for home users to burn their own CDROMs. A new and significant question has arisen -
Well, the problem is simply enough stated - CDs
are made of a kind of plastic sandwich which doesn't really burn well
at all - the flame tends to go out unless you assist it with some
external means of combustion.
Blank Frank has stepped in to investigate
and help with this matter, and here presents, in simple pictures that
anyone should be able to follow, a Guide to Burning CDROMs Reliably. First, you need the equipment and raw materials.
A blowtorch is good, and a pile of CDROMs - I find the ones that arrive
sometimes 2 or 3 at a time in the morning post from ISPs (you know who
you are) to be most satisfactory. Next, ignite the blowtorch and apply liberally
to the CDROMs, and, hey presto, that wasn't so hard was it? The end.
DISCLAIMER - don't do this, for lots of reasons
